Who We Are Looking For?

We are seeking highly motivated psychologist or clinical psychologist to join our growing practice on a generous service agreement basis. In return you will work with adolescents and adults motivated to seek change, online via video or phone consultation all within the comfort and convenience of your own home or office environment. This role is suited for a registered psychologist that is interested to increase their hours (ideally of 2-days per week).

 

 

About Us

Positive Wellbeing Psychology is a relatively new boutique private practice that has grown rapidly during COVID-19. Our practice was established early 2020, due to the need for discreet high-quality online solution focused psychological support for clients with a range of presentations. Currently, our practice has a waitlist and we are in search to find the right psychologist to join our practice and bring warmth, approachability, can-do-attitude, flexibility, and a collaborative approach with other professionals.

 

 

Our Clients

Positive Wellbeing Psychology offer psychological support for adolescents and adults presenting with a full range of mental health disorders including depression, anxiety, stress, burn-out, relationship difficulties, eating disorders, poor body image, low self-esteem, sleeping difficulties. In addition to a range of clinical presentations, we also assist individuals with personal development, decision-making, problem-solving.

 

 

Referral Basis

Positive Wellbeing Psychology accepts a range of referrals under Medicare (MHCP, EDP), NDIS (Plan-Managed or Self-Managed), EAP, other third-party organizations that require discreet support, and private-fee paying clients. We screen all referrals thoroughly, to ensure we provide a good fit for the client and for the psychologist. This allows for ethical practice and ensures our psychologists feel comfortable and practice within their levels of competence and experience. Nonetheless, we encourage ongoing PD to and growth.

 

 

Our Client-Centered and Collaborative Approach

Positive Wellbeing Psychology has a unique reputation for establishing a holistic approach, which in turn seems to have supported our referral flow from like-minded professionals. We encourage the psychologist who joins our team to connect with linked dieticians, GP’s and psychiatrists to facilitate the best possible clinical practice for our clients. Ideally, we are seeking a psychologist with some experience working in private practice and communicating other professionals and allied health practitioners.

 

 

Essential Criteria For Applicants:

• Full registration with the AHPRA.

• Keen interest and proven experience in an area of expertise.

• Areas of expertise highly valued (eating disorders, couples, families, children and youth).

• Consultants require an ABN, professional indemnity and public liability insurance.

• Languages other than English highly valued.

• An appropriate work from home setup, including a high-speed internet connection and a computer/laptop/tablet for use in Telehealth.

Our practice adopts a number of measures to provide best practice and client outcomes. We endeavour to:

Increase the likelihood of a strong therapeutic relationship through our pre-treatment intake process. This process allows the psychologist to prepare and to focus on establishing a warm and trusting setting in the initial session.

Use reliable and valid screening tests to clarify mental health concerns on the referral and/or the Health Care Treatment Plan.

Adopt evidence-based treatment approaches that are proven by decades of research to be effective.

Use pre- and post-treatment measures that are proven to track the individuals progress in therapy and to direct future planning and goal setting.

Establish a holistic approach with the individuals General Practitioner (GP) as required.

Provide timely, written communication (within 1-2 days) to the individual's General Practitioner; not limited to acceptance and review letters.

Maintain a waitlist to provide clients with earlier appointments when existing clients cancel.

Respond to booking requests within 24 hours (or earlier) and provide individuals a available timeslot within 7 days, thereby minimising delays in commencing therapy.

Provide online and accessible psychology from the private and confidential setting of the individuals home and device.
