Our psychologists may gather information from multiple sources including parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive understanding. The tests may take several hours to complete, but we ensure that our clients are comfortable and have breaks in between.

Assessment Process

Each assessment package is tailored to meet the specific needs of our clients. During the initial consultation, one of our highly skilled psychologists will discuss your concerns and advise on the appropriate assessments that are required to provide insight into the specific referral concern and to meet your needs. Depending on the referral concern, our highly skilled psychologists may examine the following areas:

  • Cognitive strengths and difficulties (IQ): these are understood as a combination of verbal and visual abilities, working memory, reasoning skills, and processing speed that makes up an individual’s overall cognitive ability.

  • Academic skills and learning: Writing, reading, and listening comprehension, mathematics and problem-solving.

  • Executive functioning: Everyday skills important for learning and managing many life tasks e.g., example memory, self-regulation, attention, and organisation.

  • Adaptive and functional skills: Necessary for daily functioning, self-care, communication, coping skills, and socialisation.

  • Emotional and behavioural assessments: Useful for understanding challenging and oppositional behaviours, emotional regulation, and mood disorders.

Available Psychological Assessments:

  • Autism Direct Observation Schedule (ADOS)

  • Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC)

  • Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale | Fourth Edition (WAIS-IV)

  • Wide Range Assessment of Memory and Learning (WRAML3)

  • Child Behavioural Checklist (CBCL)

Our experienced and qualified professionals will analyse the results of the tests and write a comprehensive report to provide information on the referral concerns and will also include recommendations for treatment or further evaluation.
